The Price of Absolution … enlightenment
The Price of Enlightenment…

Admission of wrong an enlightenment…
Absolution comes at a price,
not from apology but the realization
we were wrong, and in forgiving ourselves
the foregoing of the weight
that in denial, burdens our lives.
Absolution is not afforded us,
it is as a consequence of our admission, the truth,
not some excuse or blame,
but our true forgiveness for impropriety
and the acknowledgement of fault.
Ego often intercedes,
with ploys like squirming words,
not to admit disclosure,
to blame or manipulate truth
just for the saving of face.
Yet in the end we gain nothing but ignorance,
a deluded being of self-importance,
a perfection unattained
and a perception of superiority,
that leads us to other grief.
In forgiving the self, we admit imperfection,
admit wrong and an opportunity to learn from mistakes,
all of which is uplifting, positive,
that leads us to wanted circumstances,
always open to reassess our motives and deeds.
Absolution does come at a price,
but to an enlightened soul,
an opportunity to understand more about ourselves and life,
and to live clean within truth,
rather than on the run from reality.

Very well said, Tony. The ego is often in the way of enlightenment. Nice work.
Much appreciated Phyllis, yes, the ego is something we all need to control. Glad you enjoyed the work. Cheers!
Nicely penned. For some ego can cause all kinds of troubles and needs to be place upon the right tracks.
Glad you enjoyed and agreed with my thoughts, Rasma. Cheers!
