Originality a Must…the writer’s quest

Originality a Must...a writer's quest
Originality a Must…a writer’s quest

Platitudes are annoying,
as if there’s no other way to exude the truth,
and the more popular, the less they are in worth,
for those words slip from the tongue so easily,
they no longer take hold in the mind.

Thus is the writer’s quest,
to impart wisdom in singular ways,
yet unsaid by another,
in a manner in which entices and reaches a mind
to implore its meaning, its truth.

Repetition is just a boring regurgitation,
a numb machination of effortless scope,
not befitting a writer of any worth,
rather a soulless placement of known words,
echoes of someone else’s thought.

We may write about a subject
endless times, and each and every time, unique,
for that is what’s required
if we expect the readers to complete our work,
and for all the easy platitudes we may recite, it counts not.

For writing must be new and shiny,
as if those words were invented for our purpose only,
and the beauty of life woven within
each and every phrase,
so always be creative, don’t fall for the easy way out,
use your mind and give your readers something to tout your own.

Very true Tony..because we all use the same words and are often influenced by the same thoughts how tempting it is to copy someone’s words..but as you very correctly say, if we do that our works become worthless..it won’t give us any happiness or satisfaction..i always love to read your thoughts on writing..thank you so much for sharing..
