What Makes Us Whole

Feeling whole in life…

What Makes Us Whole
What Makes Us Whole…the road is long

Acceptance makes us whole…

The road is long, the nights cold,
and the weight of doubt forever
the tenuous steps of forward movement,
yet that burden, like a grey laden sky,
ever conceals a sun, a radiant warmth of embrace,
just below the skin of doubt,
the dark anticipations of fear
that hold us to our own sightless future.

The sun is not gone, just hidden,
and storms pass to expose the truth of deep blue open sky,
where eternity pledges all possibilities
for us to accept and pursue, and
those arduous steps are just our own tethered thoughts,
keeping us from greatness and destinies unwritten,
dreamed and realized
in the wake of acceptance and enlightenment.

As we move along our paths of chosen direction,
we alone must accept the burden of our ineptitude,
the knowledge that learning is purposeful
and falling, one step closer to our destination,
the darkness of heart just transient,
for us to better know the joy that awaits us,
when realization and acceptance
make us whole.

Realization and acceptance – yes, it does make us whole. And the sun, always just under the surface regardless of conditions is as a reminder of hope and joy within. Wonderful work, Tony.
