Love’s Promise
A promise of love
As streaks of darkness weave slender pleats
around weary countenance of the day,
a soothing blanket of stillness descends
on the heat of aspirations and demands,
and i watch everything else sink into oblivion
except this moment enclosing you and me.
Let me drown for once in the depth of your eyes
which are the faithful mirrors of your thoughts,
to momentarily erase all the blemishes in me
and embody perfection in the light of your love,
while flirting endlessly with dreams and fantasies
getting drenched in these transient showers of joy.
Let us dissolve all the boundaries and demarking lines
as we travel to the zenith of our desires,
and own the eternity of both the oceans and skies
getting lost amidst the waves and stars,
you becoming the warmth of first ray of dawn,
and me, melting like the pristine snow.
In silence, let me listen to beats of your heart
brimming with unspoken vows of love,
before waking up together in the lap of a new day
to unlock all the promises it holds,
knowing that our tomorrows will always lie entwined,
our destinies, the same, for this lifetime.
