The Greatest Country on Earth? I Think Not

The Greatest Country in the World? I Think Not
The Greatest Country in the World? I Think Not

I love the American people, and all I have found experiencing the country and connecting on-line, is warmth, acceptance and kindness. Yet this country, despite this common belief of being the greatest country on earth, is bar none, the most corrupt country in the world. It is so steeped in corruption, and has been from the beginning of its history, that people now hardly even recognize it.

Before, during and after Clinton’s presidency, he and his wife have committed so many acts of an illicit nature, they should both be in prison for life, and would be if it weren’t for their money and those with the power having backed them. There is no point in listing their often treasonous activities, (a matter of record) only to say that their connections to the broader picture of financial world rule and secret societies, keep them safe regardless. Their connections to Muslim powers, money and those groups who undermine democracy and intend on destroying the capitalist west to allow their religion and Sharia law to control the world, is irrefutable.

Now Hillary Clinton may well take the reigns of government, to pursue her own and her groups world agendas. She has a place in the inner circle of the richest men on earth, who intend to cull populations and restore the world under one government, having ultimate control of economies, food and water. Her presidential campaign was also funded largely by Saudi Arabia and the many Muslim groups she has been connected with including Asama Bin Laden, and at times ISIS and 9/11 to name a few. Even Hillary Clinton’s personal assistant is a Muslim with connections to major Islamic groups, as well as her mother and brother. If Clinton is successful, guess who’ll be secretary of state.

The state of healthcare, racial hatred, the war on drugs, law and order and the daily lies fed to the general populous, just shows how broken this country is. And it will take more that a single president to remedy the mess, but democracy has long been lost in the USA and I can’t see much hope for change.

For me, Trump is a loud-mouthed buffoon, with little self-control and real trouble in waiting, but at least he is not Hillary Clinton. The fact that these two people are the two choices for president, says more about the failing American system than anything I or anyone else could ever say. I pray for the American people and also for the world, because what is about to ensue may not be pretty and perhaps change the world as we know it.

“Greatest Country on Earth” depends on what stick we’re measuring with, Tony. As far as ‘most corrupt’ is concerned, our neighbor to the south is far more corrupt. Sadly though, you do have a point because our long standing moral compass has been abandoned.

Donald Trump is the result of the elite established political classes ad their willing media arrogantly ignoring the will of the people. I hope Trump wins if only to spit in their faces. 🙂

I could not have said it any better Will, despite all the wrong in our country, there is a lot of right, we as a country are just open about both because of our free society…..other places not so much.

The corruption I’m talking about is not just graft and corruption on a national level, for the USA has been behind just about every war, including Japan’s entry into WWII. Those who run the US, not the government, make all their money from arms and war, and that has been the impact the USA has had on global affairs. 9/11 the perfect example of an inside job, to elicit support from the masses and to create the ‘war on terrorism’ and an excuse to invade Iraq, for gain. No Bill, America is corrupt globally and that far exceeds the ignorance of countries like mexico, entrenched in the drug markets. The Clinton s are criminals, and untouchable because of who’s behind them. Trump is a bloated egomaniac with a big mouth, hardly presidential material. But in the end, neither control what’s really going on.

Tony , God bless ya for stating such truth and I understand your frustration ,yet as a patriot , now finding my own family’s military involvement since before it was even called America and almost every war since , I am heartened by the original American spirit . Are we the best , no ….. is there a better country , no…..could we do a better job , sure ,and I believe we will , soon .

I believe ALL of our problems are directly associated with voter apathy my friend .Generally , Way Less than half of us even care enough to vote ,Tony ! That alone speaks incredible volumes . I think that Hilary may win – if she does , its business as usual in America Inc., lets face it -She’s just one more in a long line . If Trump wins , although none of us like him much at all , we at least ! , have the chance of some possibilities associated with the “change ” we all want and need . Have faith my friend .

You’re right Ed, Clinton just represents the status quo and at least Trump will not follow and may achieve something right in his own crazy way. It’s such a critical time in the world, and I just hope for a positive outcome. Cheers my friend.

I so agree with you about the Clintons and who is behind them Tony. Our government is not running the country, criminals with money are, and the Clintons have been bought. I also agree with Ed “I am heartened by the original American spirit” and will forever hold that in my heart. Our country is not what it was when our ancestors fought and died for it. I have written many articles on the history of our country and did so with pride for those who won independence for us, but that is all in the past. We have lost so much along the way. It is a sad thing to cope with. I admire your forthright thoughts on this subject Tony. In this day and age I feel there is no country on Earth that can claim to be the greatest, but I pray the US can overcome and survive to be what the Great Americans pray for. And the “Great Americans” I speak of are ones who hold to truth and what it should be like. I can name several of these patriots, some right here on TCE and many others, and 3 of us right here in your comments. but our voice is small compared to the Clintons and their supporters. Thank you Tony, for bringing this subject to light.

There are so many good people in America, Tony. Hell, the majority of my online friends are American, so it is sad to see the choice they have been presented with for president. There is systemic corruption pulling the strings, and it’s sad to say our own country may follow the same path unless we are very careful. I have faith that “truth, justice and the American way” ( a line from the old Superman TV series) will win out in the end.

Now I’m going to have to disagree with your analysis Tony. Mainly because I see you judging an entire nation by the actions of a very small portion of its citizens. America is a nation of millions, where people who have never met get together to travel to Washington to help replant trees which were burned on the great fires. It’s where a man gives a kidney to young boy who’s fighting for his life. A land where a neighborhood woman makes lunch for the kids in her neighborhood who would otherwise not eat that day. It’s where a homeless person shares the little food he has with another person. This is an example of great. Give it a second thought before you write us off.

You misunderstand completely Ralph. It has never been the American people I doubt, having traveled I found them to be the most friendly helpful and giving people in the world. It is the system of government, those who control the Federal reserve and basically the CIA that rule America. If you think politicians rule, you’d be wrong. The corruption in America runs so deep even its people cannot see the truth. The media feed the masses bullshit, and no-one actually knows what’s going on. I believe in America, its people and a positive future, but see just a continuation of what has crippled a great nation, and if Clinton gets in, the continuation of it.

hmmm…. I wonder if you have actually ever lived here? What you write Tony is true and from afar I can see why you write and have the negative thoughts that you do. I take offense to the notion that I as an American cannot see the truth and all those before me that died defending my way of life and believe me yours, should be offended. It is to pick on a nation that is such an open society such as ours, but in reality that is what makes us great. The common people such as myself and almost all the rest of Americans are what make us the greatest country on earth, not those temporary individuals that occupy the White House. We as a country are responding to a wake up call right now, as it always has been in our history, we are resilient like no other.

    • November 6, 2016 at 7:18 AM

I have not lived in the US, only traveled and I love the American people. The system has always been the problem. From my experience most American are not knowledgeable about the world because your media is so manipulated to forge opinions and gain acceptance for whatever those in change want you to know and to do. You teach your children American history mostly, which is profoundly manipulated, where as most of the western world studies world history. I think its wonderful you have a sense of patriotism, but when countries are so corrupt, what you are told is rarely the truth and my negative thoughts aren’t just thoughts but truths with abundant proof. I’m sorry if any of what I wrote offends you, but truth is one thing the American government has never shared. If you knew what’s really going on, perhaps you would see things differently. I want the corruption to stop, and people be treated fairly, regardless of race as well as the ridiculous gun laws changed, but none of that will change because the powers that be have complete control. Even presidents are bought, this election is so blatantly rigged because of who controls all the money. I spend a great deal of time researching world economics and the power group that control not just the US but many countries, and I know too much to write flimsy comments about the truth of a nation like America. This presidential election is the antithesis of much global change about to shift economies and increase the prospects of war. It’s sad and I am concerned for all of us about the future.

Dear Kurt, please do not take anything personal. I am not at all offended by Tony’s post and I do not think anyone else should be. Like all of us, Tony has a right to post what he feels strongly about. And I must say he is highly aware of world issues, political agendas and corruption. He is also very concerned about the state of the world and its people. People from other countries see things differently than we do. We are too close to the political people to see what goes on behind them, which is well hidden from us. You have a right to post your opinions and as a Great American, I hope you can hold fast to your Patriotism and not let it affect your opinion of this site. We are a diverse group of people from around the world. It would be silly if I thought we should all think alike and agree on everything posted, but, I do hope we can all accept each other with open minds and love. It is love that will heal this world. Thank you, Kurt, for posting your thoughts.

Tony and yourself have no idea what I have seen and done in the name of freedom and the American way of life and this ole’ cowboy from the Rocky Mountains takes offense when I see this – “If you knew what’s really going on, perhaps you would see things differently.” and “The corruption in America runs so deep even its people cannot see the truth. The media feed the masses bullshit, and no-one actually knows what’s going on.” That makes it personal. I have been called many things in my life, but dumb is not one them.

I’m sorry you’re taking any of this personally, but this is a perspective as valid an anyone, especially those who live within the US. I didn’t call you an idiot at all, I suggested that for many years those who control the media have used it to create the opinions that aid their cause. Being deliberately blinded to the truth is not your fault, its how the system works. Being outside the US it is far easier to see what’s going on and this isn’t my opinion, is proven fact, explored and reported by a world who is concerned. Yes, of course the American people are patriotic, heroic and the US has helped many nations in times of crisis, we are allies after all, but my objective was not to insult the American people but to point out the state of your country and the corruption and secrecy that controls it. Please don’t take anything personally, this a perspective from an informed outsider. That’s all.

Constitutional America and the American people as a whole body have made this the greatest country on Earth for many, many years. Yes, of course we have corruption, like any other country, but for the most part we are not corrupt at all.

We have been attacked for years because successful nations are always attacked by other nations, and we’ve certainly endured our share of insults and mistreatment by those very same nations that we we have bled for twice now in great wars. We are even blamed for starting those wars, but serious historians make it clear that it is not true.

Gordon Sinclair, a Canadian Newsman, angrily came to America’s defense back in 1973 after watching America and Americans being kicked around yet again by her jealous critics. This is what he had to say:

    The Americans

The United States dollar took another pounding on German, French and British exchanges this morning, hitting the lowest point ever known in West Germany.

It has declined there by 41% since 1971 and this Canadian thinks it is time to speak up for the Americans as the most generous and possibly the least-appreciated people in all the earth.

As long as sixty years ago, when I first started to read newspapers), I read of floods on the Yellow River and the Yangtse. Who rushed in with men and money to help?

    The Americans did.

They have helped control floods on the Nile, the Amazon, the Ganges and the Niger. Today, the rich bottom land of the Misssissippi is under water and no foreign land has sent a dollar to help.

Germany, Japan and, to a lesser extent, Britain and Italy, were lifted out of the debris of war by the Americans who poured in billions of dollars and forgave other billions in debts. None of those countries is today paying even the interest on its remaining debts to the United States.

When the franc was in danger of collapsing in 1956, it was the Americans who propped it up and their reward was to be insulted and swindled on the streets of Paris. I was there. I saw it.

When distant cities are hit by earthquakes, it is the United States that hurries into help… Managua Nicaragua is one of the most recent examples. So far this spring, 59 American communities have been flattened by tornadoes. Nobody has helped. The Marshall Plan .. the Truman Policy .. all pumped billions upon billions of dollars into discouraged countries. Now, newspapers in those countries are writing about the decadent war-mongering Americans. I’d like to see one of those countries that is gloating over the erosion of the United States dollar build its own airplanes. Come on… let’s hear it!

Does any other country in the world have a plane to equal the Boeing Jumbo Jet, the Lockheed Tristar or the Douglas 107? If so, why don’t they fly them? Why do all international lines except Russia fly American planes?

Why does no other land on earth even consider putting a man or women on the moon? You talk about Japanese technocracy and you get radios. You talk about German technocracy and you get automobiles. You talk about American technocracy and you find men on the moon, not once, but several times … and safely home again.

You talk about scandals and the Americans put theirs right in the store window for everyone to look at. Even the draft dodgers are not pursued and hounded. They are here on our streets, most of them … unless they are breaking Canadian laws..are getting American dollars from Ma and Pa at home to spend here.

When the Americans get out of this bind … as they will… who could blame them if they said ‘the hell with the rest of the world’. Let someone else buy the Israel bonds, Let someone else build or repair foreign dams or design foreign buildings that won’t shake apart in earthquakes.

When the Pennsylvania Railroad and the New York Central went broke, nobody loaned them an old caboose. Both are still broke. I can name to you 5,000 times when the Americans raced to the help of other people in trouble. Can you name me even one time when someone else raced to the Americans in trouble?

I don’t think there was outside help even during the San Francisco earthquake. Our neighbours have faced it alone and I am one Canadian who is damned tired of hearing them kicked around.

They will come out of this thing with their flag high. And when they do, they are entitled to thumb their nose at the lands that are gloating over their present troubles. I hope Canada is not one of these. But there are many smug, self-righteous Canadians.

And finally, the American Red Cross was told at its 48th Annual meeting in New Orleans this morning that it was broke. This year’s disasters .. with the year less than half-over… has taken it all and nobody…but nobody… has helped.

Thank you, Mr. Sinclair. Thank you very much.

Bill, you seem to be taking this personally too. I don’t need to be told what positive things the American people and their elected government has done, I know this and have always loved the American people. But those who control your country, and many others do so with far less patriotism and much of what you don’t know is covert and divisive. Corruption exists in most countries, as we are basically imperfect, but the the US is flooded by corporate greed, and an independent ‘Federal Reserve’ who make their money on the back of war. I have been asked my many Americans who are travelling to Australia, why people hate America so much. I explain we love the American people but its the foreign affairs policies, selling arms to the wrong people and deliberately starting wars that give the country a bad name. Its all about money. But please Bill, I’m not trying to grandstand, this is not about ego, this is about truth and the perspective of someone who follows both political and economic power shifts in a world in crisis. That’s all.

You know what is weird Tony is I agree with most of what you say. Where the line in the sand is drawn is you keep telling us how great the American people are but, then continue on about Americans just like myself being blinded and not in the know about how our country works and you write like you are better than us with you all knowing research and I assume a crystal ball. Could it be possible you have over analyzed the situation? It seems to me you think you know the American public, but I assure you do not have a clue about how the average Americans thinks or acts which is evident in the aftermath of telling us that America is not the greatest country on earth. You are entitled to your thoughts as I am, but until the time you have lived here, voted in our elections, strapped on boots and stormed bunker in the name of American freedom please do not call us blind, not in the know, or any sugar coated way of saying the American public is “dumb”, you sir have not earned that right.

You are not dumb, never said that. Ill-informed on many subjects because those who rule don’t want you to know, and America is a great holder of secrets. The only right I need is to conclude after seeking proof of my concerns. When that happens I speak out as is my right. There is no point continuing as you have made this personal and it was never meant to be. Best country in the world would be Denmark. It is a democracy, all politicians are around 30 years of age. They even have in their parliament one minister whose sole job it to make sure there is no corrupt dealings. They are not religious, they have hardly any crime, they pay 50% income tax but get free education at all levels, free health care for life and are considered to be the happiest people in the world. Now that’s a great country. If you truly want to know what I know, simply get on line and read. It’s all on public record. Do you know your ‘Federal Reserve’ is not part of your government, do you know who killed JFK and why, have you heard of the The Dragon Family, who funded 9/11 and why, who funds the Clintons and why? All this is available information; not conspiracy theories but truth, held back because those in control, are in control. Before you accuse me, perhaps you should become informed and know more about your country, not just being a citizen but on a global platform. That’s all I have to say. and will surely not write about politics here again.

On the contrary, Tony my friend, If I took it ‘personally’ there would be absolutely no doubt in anyone’s mind that I was angry.

But to your point, if America is not the ‘Greatest Country on Earth’, then what other country is the greatest and why? What other country is not somehow corrupt? What other country is more generous? What other country takes the lead in combating tyranny, terrorism, and military belligerence by bad actors?

You seem to be condemning an entire nation of honest, hard-working people of high moral character due to the shadowy and ghostly figures you claim control us and compel us to make war without actually naming these mysterious ‘others’.

I have lived here all these years, and while I do see corruption in the political ruling classes and their media, they dare not push us too far because we fiercely support our right as citizens to rise up and take arms against them if need be. That’s why they want to disarm us of course, but unlike other countries, Americans would rather die than meekly allow ourselves to be disarmed and emasculated.
