Approaching Contention

The cool air of change
strikes with uncertainty,
refreshing as a first impression,
concerning for its unknown measures;
for what exists beyond known
that doesn’t bare a modicum of fear,
a deep-seated troubled pang
that floods a mind with possibility.
Tis fear that escalates with passion,
fed by past events
that wrap loudly upon the door of reason,
and can in consequence allow fancy
in its most rapacious mood, to direct those fears,
and leave us flailing in our own insecurities;
yet reason alone tells us to be patient,
both balance and promise
our last bastion of hope.
What often appears to be the end,
is but a beginning unrealized,
and aside from fear, there are many forces
that may find balance,
even in the most dire circumstances,
so it is well we wait and discover the truth in time,
for disclosure is far from apparent,
far from the ostensible truth.
The world moves as one organism,
many roles are played and circumstances malleable,
so to expect the disasters of our heart’s fearing,
is to aid their ensuing,
rather than have faith in right
and a world to eventually balance
all that forces in extremes to topple under foot,
and bring us all to peace.
Positive thought is all that will unite us,
all else forces contentious measures.

Exactly! “Positive thought is all that will unite us, all else forces contentious measures.” Very well said, Tony. I see a new hope for the world as we all wait to see what is before us. Thank you for sharing this.
My pleasure and I felt a word of positivism as people are freaking out, and that doesn’t help anything, as you know. Glad you agreed and enjoyed my thoughts Phyllis. Have a great day
Now it is just a waiting game to see how life unfolds under a new president. I fet buoyed somewhat by Donald Trump’s very humble and well delivered acceptance speech. Going by that it appears that much of his pre-election spiel was mainly for show and and publicity. He may in fact not be what he first seemed. I am actually quite optimistic. Good poem, Tony.
Thanks John, and I agree, but its better that the presidency is away from the Clintons and the same lot who have been in control anyway. But maybe this is what the country needs, some radical thinking. Thank you my friend.
