The Hole We’re In

The Hole We're In
The Hole We’re In…a needed shift

The Hole… we can escape

Claw as I may to the upper rim of the hole I’m in,
just to see if existence still resides,
but strangely I notice a waver,
a glitch in the space/time continuum,
and wonder if change could possibly ensue,
considering the mess we’re in.

How deep is the hole,
how far from reality can humanity dwell,
when truths are spouted like platitudes,
so repetitive, mundane and unnoticed,
and malice like a pandemic, consumes the world,
while life gasps for breath.

What do I see, this waver so conspicuous,
thoughts changing, doubts invading,
can I see a shift, a perspective change,
that light now floods for enticement;
is it love I see, a realisation of life,
and we are all as one?

Perhaps God has come down from the clouds,
and now pervades our every cell,
in every life just the same, and all those words
that seemed profound, now hit the ground,
like balloons with no more air;
beauty is seen for the first time, in everything.

We dug that hole we’re in,
and we can dig ourselves out,
a paradigm shift, a glitch of change
to see us acknowledge creation as God,
and we all a part of it, no matter our form,
in love and understanding, religion lost and worn.

All life has meaning, all life has purpose,
and the key to happiness is love,
as all life is woven within it,
and every living thing deserves its opportunity,
to live harmoniously, with respect
and in sharing enrich the experience.

Very interesting the way you wove in the questions, great questions, and taking your perspective looking outward with the sense of possibility. ‘In love and understanding’ A shift is so needed now…

    Enjoyed it.
