Some Seek a Hollow Life

Some Seek a Hollow Life
Some Seek a Hollow Life

Despise I must those ragged souls,
who determined to have it all,
plunder life in their course
and care not of collateral damage,
for they have become soulless,
greed and self-righteousness their delusion,
and no matter the words,
the actions to enlighten their wrong,
they cannot see it,
for being strong for them
is unthinkable for most.

One could call them demons,
heartless beings of wicked intent,
murderers and malcontent s,
who in reckless ascension,
and in their worship of wealth,
use it to control and in power manifest hatred,
imbalance the status quo,
sharp teeth snapping at their heels,
ever vying for the wheel that turns physical life,
to nurture their fat cumbersome egos,
into believing they are of worth.

In politics they are many,
their faces cannot but betray their truth,
and evil is not harsh enough
to describe their patter, their ruse,
and in observance their soulless lives are fraught
with little more than hatred,
to fuel their every thought;
so I see them in their seeming success,
wallowing in wealth and power and disdain,
yet they are devoid of love, of all life’s gifts
the only thing that in the end could save.

How can they live with themselves? How can they even sleep at night? There are far too many soulless creatures out there who cannot even begin to know love – and creatures they are. Great work Tony.

Thanks Phyllis, they can live with themselves because they can’t even see love or know it. They are oblivious. Take care.

You have really named it Tony, we have all known those with no soul and it is so hard to believe so many fail to see that. Oh well, one last chance here! We may be spared another few years!
