Perfect Loving Peace

Perfect Loving Peace
Perfect Loving peace…transformation

The grass,
nurtured to expansive growth,
stretches beneath me,
as shoots arise, twisting fingers probing,
until they break the bounds and pierce flesh,
boring through the bloodied tissue of my being,
travelling the artery branches, seeking light,
and I am in pain for the intrusion,
yet those shoots speak to me,
placate my fears as they spread within
like veins and tributaries forging place
and move ever upward toward the light.

From my fingers
roots profuse burrow into earth,
holding me fast, grounding my being,
as larger shoots turned branches
surge upward and break from shoulders
to amass above my head, twisting and meshing
into one single trunk, further branches emerging,
outwardly reaching for the light above,
as gnarled roots and shoots intertwine around my body
as I meld with this divine growth,
this transformation of being, without sight
yet a harmony of feeling, of awareness.

I become the tree,
feel its yearning for light,
its sharing as it reaches out in every direction,
shoot after shoot, branch after branch,
as leaves unfold in the daylight,
like parted lips to imbibe the moisture,
and I feel myself sigh,
for everything is a part of me,
and I a part of everything,
as my mind expands,
feels as though it is boundless,
so large I fit into every corner of the universe.

And I begin to see,
beyond eyes, beyond thought,
as a divine knowing saturates me,
as if bathed in warm light, nurtured
just to be in a perfect and loving dream
of what life can be;
and as rain falls and energy fills me with elation,
I cannot remember such joy,
my human shell such a limit,
my human mind such ignorance,
and I, now in final realisation,
in perfect, loving peace.

Perfectly beautiful poem Tony. To know what it is like to be a tree and experience those feelings is to spiritually connect and you did it so beautifully. Great work.

Oooh can I just say…cool! Love it, a transcending expression, and I am endlessly intrigued by the powerful spirit of the trees.

‘For everything is a part of me,
And I a part of everything
    as my mind expands’

    Excellent, excellent.

    Best,
    Mel 🙂

So glad you enjoyed the expression Mel, if only more people would commune with nature and realize we are all one. Take care.
