Life is Life, No Matter Who We Are

Life is Life, No Matter Who We Are
Life is Life, No Matter Who We Are

Life is life, no matter where one goes,
terrain, language, culture,
account for little more than color and clothes,
for in each of us, is the seed of who we are,
humanity is one thing, painted differently to go.

Yet we strangely fixate on difference,
make it an issue of controversial affront,
when all along we want the same things,
want security not live in self-defense,
but live in peace, our families to protect.

Why then do we judge so harshly,
all else that is not as we are,
of religion, of culture, of politics,
whether we struggle or work or drive a car,
it matters not, for circumstances are ours to deal.

To become wealthier, to become employed,
to follow dreams or to create our choice,
as no-one prevents us from aspiring to our potential,
no-one is ever to blame for our failures,
it is we who bare the responsibility for our life.

We are all born a clean slate, in varied circumstances,
and that is our challenge in life,
to aspire to fulfillment, to make something of our lives,
and no matter what we wish, is ours if we want it,
and we all face the same struggles, if we share.

So life is life, no matter where we are,
no matter our complications,
no matter our wishes upon a star,
and it is well we find one another, before its too late,
and realize we are brothers in this our earthly fate.

Centuries upon centuries ago it was written in ancient language that humankind was to be split into different groups by appearance and color and our language would be babble to all but our own. Slowly, very slowly, we have come forward enough to begin to recognize and remember that we all came from the same place – brothers and sisters all. Great work Tony.

Yes, Tony, life is life wherever you are. Most people do just seek happiness and security. They don’t want conflict or discrimination. How we can all come together to make this happen I don’t know, but we must try.

Agreed John, I’m sure most of the planet wants peace, but that’s not how it translates in the world. All we can do is be true to what we believe and hope for change. Cheers!

Didn’t take us long with the internet to find out how alike we really all are and our wants. A calm and peace is for most of us and it is so hard to fathom the minds of leaders who resent that so. Isn’t it? Great thoughts.

Much appreciated Jackie, yes most of us want the same things in life, and I wish those on power would have the same aspirations. Cheers!
