Brittle…your tenuous hold on reality

Brittle
Brittle…you tenuous hold on reality

Brittle is the facade you hold so tightly,
hoping to find acceptance,
your plight pitied and evident,
to all who see you, underneath.

So fragile your state,
the anger you instil is placated by a fate
that would see you crumble at a glance,
like lies that tumble in advance.

Yet you stand toe to toe, eye to eye,
without one iota of truth,
your lies like honey sweet sap,
your intricate scenarios such a ruse.

And so you push forward,
filled with passionate belief, a confidence complete,
that you are queen and deserved of the feast
you reap in despair.

You are so brittle,
held together by woven lies and delusions,
and beneath the crust of tenuous illusions,
a heart beats, so dark and lost; do you even care?
