An Unevolved Heart

An Unevolved Heart
An Unevolved Heart…sees not love

Richness is a thought of the heart,
no coffers bare the weight of life,
each breathe a purpose, a fulfilment,
that guides a soul to its transcendent light;
and no joy of body can eclipse the heart,
the potential of eternal bliss is love,
no transitory elation leads to happiness,
without love’s soulful touch.

We are complex beings of choice,
the guiding of our life’s path ours alone to bare,
and what we endure, what we suffer,
is working against life’s care;
the imbalance of greed, ego and disdain,
leads us to paths of misery and pain,
yet our investment in love’s purpose,
far outweighs physical needs to claim, joy.

Answers are simple, the failures evident,
over and over we get more out of step,
we fail ourselves for the gratification of self,
when giving and sharing finds us inept;
and sooner or later we must realise,
spiritual life is our core,
and the more we ignore it, the more we indulge in the physical,
the more we are left wanting, feeling insecure.

Balance is our task in life,
to experience and to define our beliefs,
as kindness leads to compassion and hope,
where as selfishness leads us to deplete
our potential, our profoundly ascendant path,
to wallow in our proclivity,
our base unevolved heart.

    We come from spirit to experience the physical then return to spirit with lessons learned. It is so important to find that balance you describe Tony, when we are on the physical plane. Very well penned work.

    Much appreciated Phyllis, yes balance is key, for we live in a world of choice and the pendulum stops in the middle. Cheers!
