Wonder Eyes…in birth of spring
Wonder Eyes, Such a wonder of life..

Buds, like time beginning, sprout
in golden green array,
and reach in pure instinct to meet the sky;
leaves and petals unfolding
from a deep unconscious slumber,
greet the world, squeezing, pushing
themselves to suck the life
from stem and air, and sun enticed,
to dare their place,
their delicate face within nature’s
sweet countenance.
Each day they grow like miracles,
unnoticed in their squirming, stretching
daily quest,
their surface breath ever increasing
and so their size, their buds repeating,
to fill those stems once bare,
with vibrant green, clean new life
so pristine, unfurling
curling babies
crying for the sustenance
to carry on.
If you listen, very carefully,
you can hear their cries,
their suckling hard to find the strength
the very length of their will,
their branches plump with fill,
and ever growing they,
a beauty unsurpassed by day,
where spring wields its caring nurture,
and I in measure of their supple stature,
watch with wonder eyes,
the birth of everything, on a warm spring morn.

You can write lovely verses on the beauty of Spring and I will be enthralled with each one, Tony. Great work.
Thanks Phyllis, yes it enthralls me to observe the movements of nature, and life in rise and fall. There are never enough words or expressions to express the beauty of life. Cheers!
You did a beautiful job explaining and describing the complexity of spring being born. It is a wonderful thing of nature to observe and I suspect you as well as I, could never tire of it.
Thanks Jackie, yes nature is a wonderful inspiration and as a poet an endless source of inspiration. Take care.
