What I Wondered

I wondered, if all the leaves
on ever branch and bow,
would sing in breeze, indeed allow
each single note, an afferent sound,
to ring out loud;
would harmony bless the skies?
I think it would,
for how delicate the workings
of each aspect of life,
endowed with a sharing of each breath and rite,
imbibing nature’s will;
and never shrouded this open heart,
imbuing all that perfection did demand,
right from the start.
If all the birds of air and ground,
found a single song to sing,
what a choir, a majestic symphony,
a melody that could capture the world;
and beauty could have another name,
far beyond its present fame,
redefined in glorious gain,
a resounding beyond compare;
and every feathered life,
could attest this wonderous light,
this treasured breath and song released,
in harmony of shared life at least,
a joyous acceptance of now.
If every star the night sky glimmered,
could radiate for we alone,
imagine the light the night would hold,
and past long gone would greet us
with a smile, as night attests
the day on fire
with a billion burning suns;
and planets lost would pass on by,
shadows gone and life aspired,
as we in wonder standing by,
to witness the beginning of time,
life in growth and states sublime
in ageless, endless rhyme.

All your writings are great, Tony, and always provide a purpose, a lesson, motivate, inspire, make me ponder, I could go on and on with these thoughts. Once in a while (well quite often, really), you come up with words and thoughts that are so profoundly beautiful, opening the mind to unheard of possibilities, magical thoughts that would make everything fall in place in perfect harmony, as if I found myself in the land of fae where all things are possible. Oh, how glorious that would be. See, my mind is far off in so many thoughts of beauty and harmony now prompted by your lovely verse. Thank you for these moments of peace.
A wonderful response Phyllis and so pleased you find such beauty in my outpourings. I am humbly appreciative. Thank you.
Such a beautiful piece, Tony. I think the most powerful thing about your writing is, it’s picture forming. I don’t just read the words, but see the words happening in my mind. To me, that’s a sign of a great poet. Thank you, my friend!
Appreciate your kind words Bill, so pleased you enjoy my work. Cheers!
