What Gifts a Writer

What Gifts a Writer
What Gifts a Writer

What gifts a writer
more than words, is intention,
the heart of the expression,
the essence of the writer
written in compassionate freedom,
in true loving intent,
beyond the purpose of convincing,
selling or persuasion,
words of sharing do gift a page.

Creation is beyond ego,
beyond triviality,
for it is pure in construction and intent,
flowing free from expectation,
from the constraints of ego,
rather a process of beauty, of discipline
and skill woven upon a page,
in the hope the sentiments are taken to heart,
accepted in the purity of their conception.

No skill can be emoted without heart,
mere ink upon a page even if accomplished,
for it is the warmth of rendering,
the pure intention of love’s embrace
that marks a great writer,
who can transcend the lowly aspects of human thought
and create kindness in every word,
beauty in every phrase,
and life-affirming thought in every work.

What gifts a writer
is their ability to give freely,
without prejudice, without agendas,
just the flow of thought
from one being to another,
enriched by skilled expression
that touches hearts, affects lives
and at the end of each completed work,
finds the reader glad
and moved by the experience.

Tony I so agree but also think the same holds true for the writer…to be happy and moved by the experience. That is what keeps us at it!
