Therein Lies Happiness

Therein Lies Happiness
Therein Lies Happiness…a spiritual life

Happiness of the spiritual realm…

History shows
the unequivocal ineptitude of humanity,
an unerring self-absorption of striving greed,
and ultimately the same disastrous results
from unrestrained egos and narcissism.

Regardless of the obvious,
the world still reels from the same problem,
where the overwhelming proof of consequence
is not enough to curb the behavior,
and so creates ruin and continues pain and suffering on earth.

Not religion but spirituality
is the only answer to quell the greed
that drives economies and people to worship false gods,
as no religion can help, for that is divisive by contrast,
rather the ideals of love, compassion and kindness
that soothes souls into acceptance, is the answer.

Money cannot buy love, compassion or kindness,
that is far from the drive of egos,
in a world designed within this construct,
contention born of striving for gain,
when happiness can only be derived
from a clean and peaceful soul.

Unencumbered by striving for gain,
a soul may express itself in creative contexts
rather than the constraints
of commercial and physical considerations,
instead, nurturing love, consideration
and selfless service to humanity.

Therein lies happiness,
free from the burdens of worry and societal constraint,
where life is appreciated and joyous in its unfolding,
each breath a gifted pleasure to be explored.

Thank you Phyllis, as we grow older, there is little more to do but realize what is truly important, what has meaning and gives the ultimate value to life. Take care
