The Delusion is Complete

The Delusion is Complete
The Delusion is Complete…what we really want

From perspectives gleaned,
life no-longer holds its breath,
and I in sadness admit,
much of life is heart bereft,
for contention speaks too quickly,
is too intrenched in belief and malice,
to recognise what love could transform,
in balance.

Days are filled with obstacles,
pressures the burden of every soul,
yet instead of seeking well-needed balance,
we blame with passion and vitriole,
and who knows the pledge,
the adjustment of change we’ve made
that led to a focus so rearranged,
a dark path of never-ending.

When did we drop the ball,
find pleasure in hatred and persecution,
rather than compassion and brotherhood,
now a devisive trend in execution,
and when did we give up on our ideals,
the hearts ability to heal,
not blacken to uphold possessions,
or fight from fear of possible oppression.

Is this what we all want,
this constant state of war and conflict,
when the natural world is purity,
a guide for our lives to uplift,
yet we ignore the beauty, hold fast our greed
and have learned to dismiss our teacher’s wise lead,
and fall to the anger and displeasure we breed,
in recognition of what we own.

The delusion is complete.

Indeed, when did we drop the ball? It all seems so subtle that things changed from purity to war and constant disagreement, yet it also seems like it was overnight our world changed. I sometimes like to retreat beyond the veil to a world of love and purity, the way it was meant to be.

Great work, Tony. Well penned and thought provoking.

Much appreciated Phyllis, pleased you enjoyed it. Take care. By the way, I’ve formatted the first five and we’re already over 100 pages. Have to wait till I get the rest now.
