Living in the Now

Living ‘now’ the moments pass
with distinct and singular meaning,
and heart-warming the reflections felt,
resounding in a cacophony of seeing,
when, as if in slow motion, time ebbs
with profound disclosure,
marking each moment with a color,
as individual as droplets of rain, the petals of clover.
Each moment is woven of itself,
special and different than anything else,
as we as souls in learning
are like no other in our discerning,
just who we are a miracle of life,
potential given and ready for flight,
our limitations but our perception,
our fears and doubts, our one deception.
Lost we may become
in the torrid movement of life,
when streams so strong may drags us
to perilous plights,
yet in the moment, the abiding present,
we are the pilot, the navigator, the essence
of who we truly are,
and in accepting the now,
we guide ourselves in awareness to the known.
Blindness, always seeking futures
and pondering wasted past,
gives nothing but repetitive experience,
the ‘now’ lost in this fading art,
for there is no future, no past at all,
just what we have right now,
the opportunity to live with a sentient mind,
and glean everything with joy.

I love this verse, Tony. Moments flow by like a river, but can last forever in memory.
Glad you appreciated it Phyllis, it is all we can do to live in the present, to feel and know life. Cheers!
