Giving, My Way

Giving My Way
Giving My Way…my road

A Giving Heart…

Fragile the flesh,
tedious the mind,
wading through the thoughts,
to find the point, an acceptance in kind,
so I can be who I am,
not a prescription to order,
to find honesty in myself,
cast away all delusions, the fears at my door.

Rocky the paths,
sharp all the edges,
of all the roads I’ve travelled,
all the brambles and hedges,
trying to find a light in purpose,
a direction of worth,
a pure clarity of self
and a joy in my work.

Many loves I have fallen,
friendships denied,
bridges I have burned
and many excuses I’ve lied,
for trust is my burden,
giving my way,
yet disappointment my companion,
but in strength I can say.

My soul is in progress,
this heart weathered but strong,
my patience a plenty,
understanding so long,
as I traverse my world,
in the flight of my soul,
I express all my heart
and in life I am whole.
