Accepting Love

Accepting Love
Accepting Love…the only path to happiness

The sweet scent of jasmine
may endow the day with a warm regret,
so many days lost, flavourless,
overwhelmed by the stench of rotting flesh,
as we traverse a world filled with pain,
what’s sweet and of the heart, of love’s embrace,
often cannot bear the strain.

The path is fraught with suffering,
the recompense of ignorance and mistakes,
that if learned from, may ease the pain,
and the joys of life, the beauty, love and possibility,
are simply the enticements to carry on,
to overcome the struggle
and glean more of love’s fine offerings.

In accepting love and beauty
and the endowments of life,
we chose a path beyond the physical,
beyond the damnation of lowly expressions,
of lust and hatred and greed and envy,
and so choose a spiritual path
that requires much discipline, but yields much reward.

This life relents the suffering,
the very vortex of confusion and unhappiness,
to understand how simple life can be,
beyond all the striving, to succeed, to gain, to rule,
instead accept the self, the all empowering seed
of the creator of this, our being,
and to know each breath is closer to perfection,
just by accepting love.
