When Trust is Lost

When Trust is Lost, Doubt Lingers…

In quandary minds fall to doubt,
unbelieving the sight that confronts,
led astray from truth to affront, as
the mind sways with uncertainty.

Lies often rock the world,
shudder under foot of belief,
and cracks appear,
the foundation of absolutes,
suddenly in question of reality’s hold.

And when all you believe is now in question,
what else can you believe of the world,
the shadow cast but a veil of what,
a maligned truth unexpected.

Who do we truly know
when life squeezes our resolve,
as circumstances guides sanity to insanity’s call,
and breached our expectations, our truths set,
of someone we love and now know, more.

Trust is a deep set foundation of love,
and without it, emotions untethered
fly off into the vast unknown,
no longer a faith we adhere to.

So how does this loss realign
our love of cherished souls,
when lost their life of all you knew,
to someone else they fall,
and recognition is like a mist, a face not recalled.
