What Treasure…Love

What treasure held can compared
with your sweet countenance,
what value can wealth have
when you are near,
for you outshine all that glitters in attraction,
you are the centre of my focus,
my admission,
that life would not be so afferent,
without your soul,
your mind and body next to mine.
Life would pale to insignificance
without you in it,
and my soul bereft of love’s radiant glow,
for I cannot abide by moments lost from you,
each touch, embrace my salvation,
each gesture, taste,
the sweet nectar of life itself,
and my every breath
consoled by your every breath,
our souls entwined in being.
What forever means can in no way change
this love launched into the eternal heart,
embraced of all that life can impart,
delivering dreams like exhalations,
joy like childhood days,
and sleep our bodies entwined
like tendril arms
of burgeoning life aligned,
to the flow of life’s river,
into horizons never reached.

Oh! So very romantic and deeply emotive. The one to receive this kind of love eternal would be blessed. Beautiful. Great phrasing, Tony.
Thanks Phyllis, glad you appreciated it. That’s the goal in poetry, trying to say the same things in different and unique ways. Not always easy. Glad you enjoyed it.
