Some Kind of Victory

Victory…a small reward

Some Kind of Victory
Some Kind of Victory…in life’s challenges

Chill, shuddered waves of discordance,
writhing internal ache, ominous, looming,
and sight attest not this feeling,
just a reeling of imbalance,
a misstep of movement awaiting recompense.

So are moments of impending disharmony,
when that corner neons change,
and you can feel life rearranged
to fit a new obstacle, an oncoming codicil,
that will test our calm resolve.

The onslaught unstoppable,
a fated curse in time will tell,
what change cannot escape our life,
merely test us to our brink in strife,
and fare we may in our choices.

Yet still, after so many moments,
the rising fear does capture me,
and I wonder what now will drive my hope
to outrun or last this affront, this scope,
of crisis points of change.

Perhaps I should just hold my breath,
and let dead wood lie, a loss bereft,
until no more can life test my will,
instead let lessons learned have lasting laurels,
and me a break from this endless twisting turn of phrase.

Sorrow held for what I’ve dealt,
I guess my tests are necessary,
and life is just a path of endless pain felt,
in fathoming all and me
to end with some kind of victory.

Great photo selection to represent! And aren’t we the culmination of life’s challenges, and how we respond and hopefully persevere? Snails moving towards the expanse of truth, always on the edge of a possible break. Sometimes, I imagine humanity, no different than a caterpillar crossing the path of moving feet…per chance to transform, or get crushed beneath. Other times I believe we have the ability to control our outcome fully. Goes to show ya, im all over the place…ha! Enjoyed this Tony.

    Best,

Your not all over the place Mel, we cannot know definitively, as we have some controls but sometimes life acts for us and in experience we learn. Glad you related and enjoyed. Take care.
