Peace Restored Within My Soul
Peace restored …

When troubles gather round, things hurt deeply,
It is a reminder to stay calm and in control.
Bend with the wind like a slender tree
Let peace be like a gentle river’s flow.
Troubles come billowing like ocean waves,
Disrupting calm waters, churning up sorrows.
Face what has to be, remember what saves,
Saves me from devastating tomorrows.
In silence I listen to my inner voice,
Seek my highest truths where I am whole,
Then I know it is time to make a choice,
To feel the peace restored within my soul.
Demons of the past followed me on my journey
Throughout life, some still linger in shadows,
Waiting for signs of weakness, to tempt me,
Back to the times of darkness and deep lows.
All I need is already within me
Deep in silence where I can always go,
To find my Self, my truths, and just be,
And feel the peace restored within my soul.

Balance is so important, on every level of life and when things get rough, we can always find that inner place of serenity and restore. Nicely penned and expressed Phyllis.
Thank you, Tony. Glad you related – I knew you would. Sometimes I get wobbly, but strive to restore balance peacefully in “that inner place of serenity”. Thanks again, dear poet.
Lovely Phyllis, such a calming reminder to find center. A beautiful, glowing message as always. Enjoyed it. 🙂
Best,
Mel
Thank you, Mel, for that very kind comment. So glad you enjoyed it. Take care.
The perfect response to the last poem I read. Jamie
