No Proof Can Be Given

Insecurity…no proof of worth

No Proof Can Be Given
No Proof Can Be Given…something to prove

People flex their muscles,
the ones they haven’t got,
to convince you that they have,
and loudly do they profess the strength,
they sorely are without,
their achievements like proof of worth,
when in truth its their ineptitude they spout.

And in meeting so many people,
more than not impress this point,
broken are they, dismissed and placated,
in their quest for self-worth, their plight;
and I cannot abide their forceful game,
of mouthing off for their own self-gain,
pretence of ego a sad refrain
of desperation.

Kindness allows me
to just smile and listen,
but no part will I take or buy the lies and exhibition,
for the burden of their responsibility, is not mine,
lost they are, out of place
and wanting security,
beyond my scope of intention.

Souls like this are shunned,
others entangled in their complex web of need,
but I cannot bare that burden, not for them or for me,
as we all deal with our pasts and issues,
so with kindness I let them be,
delusions and games
a step away from me.

And kind you always are…It is interesting though isn’t it, how insecurity reveals itself in different ways. To be able to recognize it as such, in yourself, but also in others, how it manifests and rears its ugly head, is helpful though. Enjoyed it Tony.

Thanks Mel, glad you related to my thoughts. I love to observe people, their behavior and reasoning, as it is the key to all of us in this journey of sentient being. Take care.
