Loose Tongues and Battleships
Loose Tongues…malicious lies

Loose tongues, like wagging tails,
espouse happily the dark deeds of others,
in vile and lucid images embellished, to sail
and engender agreement of plots of fancy,
then driven to manifest for self-centred scope.
How relished they are in the telling,
so afferent each poignant phrase,
to elicit the colours of the rainbow,
laced intricately into every word raised,
in their black and white leaning.
And as hearts race and rally to the fore,
the victim, unbeknownst, strangely shudders,
words like bullets fired, striking flesh and bone,
and hearsay flies like birds released,
proclaiming truth at every turn, a feast.
And what then does the teller make,
what joy awaits the tale told,
but malicious, vindictive satisfaction,
a bitchy, maligned life, in public sold
down the river.

I have a few people in my life that actually do relish the malicious lies they spew out. I wonder how they would feel about their self if they focused on truth? Great work, Tony.
Thanks Phyllis, me too, the very inspiration for this and other such works. They just don’t see it. Cheers!
