Liars Lament

Liars see their own truth….

No matter the pleas,
no matter the sincerity of appeal,
when liars elicit your support,
they do under the guise of their own delusions,
truth the malleable distortions of wanted reality,
and reality for them, as pure as the driven snow.

One cannot find fault, for there is none,
their expression of falling victim to someone else,
as believable and emotional
as an academy award winning actor,
who truly believes their own skewed perceptions,
masterfully evoking truth beyond reproach.

Yet, as smart as they assume they are,
they will always fall by their own hand,
one aspect or slip-up bound to reveal
the deception of a true con-man, a deluded soul,
so wound within their own painful truths
they cannot face, without recreating the world.

And so many accept their lies
and see their vindictive assaults as warranted,
for victimisation and sincerity bleeds from every pore,
but truth is a wriggly devil
and by nature will surface to endow the world,
and then the liar falls to irreconcilable loss.

For what trust can we have
in someone so sincere in their deceit,
like a disease that cannot be cured,
a travesty that cannot be resolved,
and for all their delivered hurt and slanderous acts,
they will pay with their own lives.
