Tender the Ties…heart and life

Heart Love and Loss Extremes…

Tender the Ties…love and loss

Tender the ties that bind a heart to life,
the love that makes the pain worthwhile,
yet love itself may no redeem,
the hurt that ensues from the loss of dreams.

Yet no matter the pain of love dismissed,
the heart still seeks that perfect state,
and joy and pain are the two sides of a single coin,
that is tossed in hope of life’s favoured fate.

So we cling to that one complete feeling,
that transcendent mind and heart as one,
when love elevates a wanting soul,
to the rapture of its surrender, told.

And so is life in all extremes, a passage,
both pain and joy in experience’s knell,
as love our much sought epiphany,
gleaned in time from heaven and hell.

Tender then our ties to life,
sacrosanct and blessed in awakened souls,
and despite the pain and harsh redress,
tis all we want to make us whole.
