Roses by Your Garden
Garden

Moving by your path the other day on the way
to the village beyond
near your gate I saw the beauty of your plantings
the flowers blue lavender and blond
I do not know you or your heart I do not know
your scent or your touch
yet it wasn’t hard to imagine
it didn’t take so much
For there in the garden you kneeled caressing
the lonely rose
I couldn’t help but notice or care
just nosey I suppose
You were crying and stood alone as you wiped tears
from your eyes
I tried hard to look away but turned back
and you looked up in surprise
When I asked is anything wrong my love
I saw the color of your eyes and I knew
I was a flower or a weed in your garden from now on
and like the rose in your hand ………it was up to you

Beautiful, as always Ed, you just have away of expressing your heart. Enjoyed it.
Best,
Mel
Lovely verse, Ed. I enjoyed reading this.
PS: Ed, please visit the forum thread ‘Book or eBook of The Creative Exiles’ and give Jamie a list of poems you would like to be included in our first book (just list titles only and Jamie will look them up). Thank you.
Very nicely emotive and well penned Ed, I really enjoyed the subtle rendering of emotions. Great work.
Lovely poetry. Enjoyed this.
What a great well told story. I fell into this poems world and did not return until it sadly ended. Well written Ed. Jamie
