Flower, Meant To Be

Mortar and pestle ground,
I am but the fragments of experience,
broken down to a paste
of what I am at core,
and no matter who tries to grind me away,
the result will always be the same,
for none of us can change who we truly are,
that contention is lost in hope
and wanting in reality.
Experiences add to the picture,
interpretations based on our beliefs,
and some may sway our views,
yet the views are still our own at core,
conclusions found in our reality,
all of which having long been tried and accepted;
so revelations may come and go,
but how we perceive them is ours alone,
the additions of complexity that uphold our truth.
One may distill our minds
to a base component, a rendering of us,
and all else is the layers of life
in which we move and journey on,
yet we remain us,
the core of a soul in growth,
and when change actually happens
it is truly an epiphany,
a rare and glimmering uplifting of the soul
to higher planes of understanding.
Spiritual ascendancy is beyond most human life,
and still, the core remains the same,
even then, what’s written within us
is ours alone in stoic endurance,
and as understanding grows
our focus changes,
our path defined,
yet we are who we are,
right from the beginning.
The soul is like a flower,
closed in darkness, in slumber’s wake,
yet when sun rises,
petals unfurl and we become the flower
we were always meant to be.

Tony, this is so beautiful. We are each so unique, so blessed with our own potential, our own spiritual plan, and time of awakening. W e become who we are meant to be, a unique flower in the garden of life. I love these thoughts.
Thought you might with this one Phyllis. I am always trying to change perspective, give a fresh look at aspects of life, because we can miss so much. Glad you appreciated it. Take care
