Down the Rabbit Hole
Like Alice in Wonderland,
the spring brought me –
into a world,
that is always changing.
Always new,
what was once familiar,
all through the long winter,
has now magically transformed –
into a thing of beauty.
Everywhere I look,
so many things,
seem like they’ve been decorated,
just in honor of the spring.
Here and there rivers and streams,
bubble and gurgle,
so happy to be free.
Ducks, geese and swans,
with new families.
The parks which looked sad and wanting,
now full of life,
children running and playing,
laughter drifting upon the wind.
I couldn’t be more delighted,
than Alice when she tumbled,
down that rabbit hole .
Somewhere that Queen of Hearts,
still eating her tarts,
shouting not to paint her roses red.
The dormouse scampering out,
now that winter’s gone,
he’s in a hurry,
going to an un-birthday party,
you see he’s been invited.
The warm winds,
now gently play
and the caterpillar,
comes out for a smoke.
While I like Alice,
would like to sing,
with the flowers,
beginning to bloom in the spring.
However just like her
I’ve still to get an answer,
from that white rabbit,
scampering about.
His glasses slipping upon his nose,
his pocket watch,
held tightly in his hand.
Why are you in such a hurry?
Couldn’t we have a tea party
with the Mad Hatter?
or does that really matter?
once you’ve fallen down the rabbit hole….

Lovely Rasma, and spring is just like that, a land of much color and wonder. Playfully written and fun to read. Nice work.
Thank you Tony.
I love this, Rasma. It is so fresh, bouncy, delightful. Well done.
Thank you Phyllis.
