Two Who Lived as One

When years fade into decades and beyond
Tender saplings became a forest
Colors once bright now faded
Areas cleared, others reclaimed
Nature reassembling in the modern
Generations change, the past forgotten
Written scraps and fading diaries
Precious remnants tucked safely away
Keepsakes kept in chests and boxes
Their meanings dissolving over time
The most important photos of life
Held as memories….
Pages in my mind’s album
So long ago it seems
When you were simply….you
None other could compare
You lived while other existed
A raw freedom in your veins
Symphonies were heard as you spoke
Ancient taboos broached
Colorful pigments swirled
Kaleidoscopes in your oceanic eyes
Fragility in your tender touch
Wispy fingertips dancing tiny steps
Footsteps as light as the wind itself
Picturesque moments
Delightful remembrance
Each day another album
Each eve romance renewed
I recall when daybreak would stand
Taking pause to capture your light
Angelic rays of rich colors
An aura of ethereal beauty
Yet freely to share with no remorse
And your glances, ever so subtle
When words would not suffice
Where one smile that led to another, and another
When evenings were only to languish
Sensuality
Not a moment wasted
Each curve observed in detail
Every hair a living part of the tale
The hourglass still
We melted into one another
Existence became singular
With hands loosely clasped
Unhurried words exchanged
We drift to a place eternal
Living eyes closed, dream ones open
OurĀ embrace captured and held forever
These are the secrets of life that we share
Tis the tale of two who lived as one

This verse is very romantic and beautiful, Ralph. It flows pleasantly and expresses deep, abiding love. Well penned, indeed.
Nicely done, R.J. The colors you expressed paint a beautiful picture.
Lovely work Ralph, such beautiful imagery and fine poetic verse to inspire and hold your readers. A fine talent my friend.
