Open Minded
Open Minded …
Wandering the void of darkness
that is my silent escape,
that inner sense of knowing
that placates all those seeds I sate,
as in gleaning all the truths I find,
and dismissing all the lies,
what lay within this dark abyss,
is all I believe in kind.
From this those whispers of inner solace,
warn of immanent affronts,
the subtle flow of knowledge found,
that saves me from the brunt,
of all those traps of folly,
that confront us day to day,
weathering our resolves and mind,
but in survival we’re OK.
And as I wander this dark silent space,
where resounding thoughts and resolves reside,
I now feel at home within myself,
and no need to ever hide,
as all that I have fought and won, lost and run,
has finally been decided,
and here inside I feel secure,
to know I’m open minded.
