My Perch

My Perch…my mountain solace

In stillness found,
the summit of my mountain perch,
high above the lowly thoughts of ego’s rhyme,
the mutter of self-interest and the sigh of souls,
relenting the play of survival at cost,
and imbibing the freedom of higher thought.

Here upon my earthen ridge,
where clouds of mist
cool the stench of physical grime,
and leave that world behind
to follow beyond the obvious connections,
to pursue the inner projections
of who we really are.

Here in air so thin, the chill of icy winds,
so pure to cast out all that leaves a mind in woe,
what is seated within does surface,
uninhibited and open to truth’s accepting heart,
so that all may be forgiven,
accepted and restored to potential.

This climb and quiet retreat,
is all a mind needs,
to defeat those doubts and fears,
and to realign what life has in store from beginning,
without my interfering,
my lost dreams and attention.

Here in the stillness, I find myself,
wrapped in layers of wanton lies,
but ready to compromise my ill-fated aspirations,
that draw me from my chosen path,
and keep me from the fate that awaits
my spiritual ascension.

It is so wonderful to seek Nature where one can get in touch with their inner thoughts and connect to spirit. You express this so well, Tony – rising above that which weighs us down and transports us to the silence where we can know our higher truths. Well done, Tony. Peaceful.
