Last Few Moments
Last few moments …

Diaphanous veils in gentle flight,
caressed by warm and afferent breeze,
upon the skin a pure delight,
a touch of joy from angelic sighs ;
and here in this flowing world of white,
languid steps as if walking on clouds
through fluttering wings of butterflies,
soft colour trails across the sky.
And voices entreat one to sit
and find a stillness of heart, at ease
with all that is before a sentient mind in release,
as warmth and love’s sweet embrace
does deliver a calm and silent sanctity of mind;
and no expectation, no concerns exist,
just a heart in love with love,
as inspired happiness persists.
And when she arrives,
her beauty like the glow of a rich dawn breaking,
she sits by me and smiles, and
no words can impart the love in her eyes,
as she takes my hand
like the gentle touch of heaven,
and assures my mind of pain now ceased,
and the joy of all awaits in peace,
as I fall to my last few moments.

I believe that you, Tony, will find that place of clarity and calm in your heart, as you strive everyday, through your writing to find only truth and love. Beautifully expressed thoughts of final moments.
You will certainly have the hand of an angel. 🙂
Best,
Mel
That’s sweet Mel, not for the want of trying. Pleased you enjoyed it my fellow poet. Cheers!
Your gentle heart and expressions of beauty will surely draw her to your side long before those last few moments, Tony. Such a lovely verse.
Thank you Phyllis, so glad you enjoyed it.
