The Learning

The Learning …

The Learning
The Learning….coincidence or fate

Albeit a coincidence, or the wielding arm of fate,
the disparity of my long term goals,
is stronger than my faith,
and so I writhe within this frail skin,
the learning of my soul,
for all those things I thought I wanted,
leave me now with a deep dark hole.

For at core these aspirations,
were for ego and gratification,
nothing to do with my spiritual wants,
and so there were indeed ramifications,
showing me my misguided mind,
my true and innate nature, and
to realize my path was not set.

As knowledge imbues my soul,
and life decisions become sagacious,
my path changes direction, becomes more refined,
to follow the learning of body and mind,
and in aspiring to my spiritual goals,
I find my place, my growth in learning,
as the world and my circumstances settle.

Perhaps coincidence then was a reach,
as my oversights are realized, my hopes breached,
and those petty aspirations
were for reasons lost in translation,
leaving an open mind to hold a righteous intent,
and to re-evaluate what truly I wanted,
my innate need for truth, the direction I am prompted,
to take.

We reach a point in life when the realization of spiritual needs and growth is what really matters. Very well-stated thoughts, Tony.

Thanks Phyllis, yes, I guess age and experience change our perspective on life and we finally realize what’s important.

Tony, most of us are misguided early on in life only to realize our priorities need to really change. Good meaningful poetry.
