Visions of Ancestral Lands – Woven Tapestry
Visions of Ancestral Lands …

Visions of Ancestral lands, a woven tapestry spread over Mother Earth.
Ancestral lands, how long ago and far away sounds the phrase,
Yet it is here, all around us, from mountains high to valleys low.
What cherished memories it stirs within our hearts,
What profound spiritual strength it casts upon our lives,
with visions of beauty that play across our minds.
To stand on the highest ground and gaze below at what
Mother Nature painted can bring one to the edge of all senses,
And wonder how it was possible to create such profound visions.
Ancestral lands make us want to soar with the wings of an eagle,
absorb every possible nook and cranny below us,
Amazing colors that tempt the eyes, tickle the heart.
Visions ~
Visions of woodlands with quiet places of solitude offer a cool,
shady sanctuary of repose, as the mighty mountains watch over us.
Visions of great plains stretching as far as one can see,
with grasses that gently bend with the wind.
Visions of deep cool forests with streams of cold, clear water,
are there to calm our aching souls and tired bones.
Be still and listen to the pine trees that whisper to us,
with the voices of our ancestors.
Woven Tapestry ~
Deserts that hide their secrets till spring rains quench the land
and give birth to glorious color.
Flowers of amazing beauty that will take our breath away
with the profundity of it all.
Lakes and oceans that bless us with their calm beauty,
or rouse us with waves crashing on shore to stir our emotions with passion.
Deep ravines and canyons that give us profound and majestic paintings,
which touch our heart and soul with the magic of nature.
All this beauty and more was gifted to our ancestors by Great Spirit,
entrusted to them to care for, receive from and give back,
to live in harmony and balance with.
This beauty, this gift, is Our Land. Walk softly upon it.
