Together Always in Spirit Only

Together always, but only in spirit, he was there for her, for so long, so many life times, in spirit, dreams, visions of profound love that bound them together for eternity.

They came together, loved at the calling of their spirit. Gentle were the winds that carried them over many journeys.

In times of sorrow she could turn to him in spirit, he held her up when day hours were too long and lonely, he held her at night when their souls met in unity.

Strong, loving, he would lift her to her feet to help remember how to go on. Courage, remember that one day, in another life, we will come together in the physical realm.

She always knew there is nothing on Earth that could ever break their spiritual bond, a promise made in the beginning of time would never fade or waver. Oh, let it still be so.

So many times over the years she held him up, encouraged him to remain strong in spirit. When he was hurt and almost died, she was there in spirit, she held his hand, she took his fears and replaced them with love. She shared his pain, walked with him.

In spirit they came together, to hold each other, to love, give each other the strengths so needed. He is her life and love from times past, he is her love in spirit, a deep abiding love.

Now she cries out to him at night and he is not there. She wants to feel him once more walking by her side, and he is not near. And her spirit calls, painfully and so alone.

Where are you, my beloved, my other half? Where do you wander alone? Do you remember me and our precious times together?

So sweet were they, as we floated in the realm of spiritual love where there is no time and nothing but the two of us. Now I cannot find you there in the delicate mists of our spiritual home.

Come back to me, hold me, give me your strength, let me know you are still my life, my love. I cannot go on without you. Can you hear the cry of my soul?

Do you see the deep sadness in my eyes, or hear my sobs in dreams at night? Do you touch the tears on my pillow or feel the heaviness, the sadness of my heart, the emptiness of my arms?

She awakes to moonlight, a gentle breeze lifts the gossamer curtains at her window. The coolness of the air calms and relaxes her body as the tears dry on her face.

Once more she feels a touch, a whisper, his lips on her brow. It is glorious, beautiful, and she is filled with joy. From a journey she knew not where, he has come back.

Together

Note from author ~

Their love is so strong, so true and profound that there is no barrier to stop their spiritual love, nothing on Earth that can break their tender, divine bond. Yet they are on different karmic paths and cannot come together physically in this life, for to do so would hurt others far too much. So, in spirit only they connect and love, and sometimes that connection, for unforeseen reasons, may be interrupted.

Some believe in twin souls, many do not. This is a true story of one woman and the man she loves who believe in twin souls. They had to eventually break their spiritual connection themselves, for it was far too painful for them. They were dear friends for many years, but the possibility of their inner most feelings becoming known to others made them realize they had to go separate ways. The love is still there, just in a quieter place.

I am an author on TCE and write mainly in poetry and short stories. I have always liked to write. It is important to me that writing comes from my heart and soul. When writing poetry, if I do not feel a spiritual connection to what I am writing on, I will discard it and go on to something I can connect with on a spiritual level. I live in the moment, I write from the past or beyond the veil. When writing fiction I go with whatever inspires me at the moment - it could be funny, sorrowful, romantic or sometimes done with the use of colloquial language from mountain folk or other cultural regions. I began writing content online in 2007, starting with BellaOnline - A Voice For Women, where I was the Native American Editor, Folklore & Mythology Editor, and the Appalachian Editor. I also wrote articles for The Examiner, Daily Two Cents, and Yahoo. I am currently an author on HubPages. Most of what I write takes a lot of research and I love it. Even if it is a fictional story, I will research for accuracy in whatever it takes to make my characters, their era, their location, etc. become realistic to the reader. I hope you enjoy my works. Thank you for visiting.

Phyllis, that is a powerful poem. I have never heard of this phenomenon. Is it cultivated or does it happen organically? Very strange, moving and powerful. Beautiful poem.

Oh my gosh! Thank you very much, Chris. Twin souls is a spiritual belief that comes naturally to people who are very much aware of their spirit and past lives. It is a profound experience to have. As my poem indicates, it is an eternal love that does not come to fruition in every life. Thanks for reading and commenting, Chris, I appreciate it very much.

This wonderful piece of writing reminded me of that famous writing called Footsteps. I’ll bet it is a profound experience to have. Some may have inklings and some might have what you so elegantly written about here. Your very far down the golden path in my opinion, as this so very well shows.

Is it then in other words like a dream lover, Phyllis? Those can be very real when held onto but perhaps this is more spirit than fantasy? Whichever, very enjoyable read.

A powerful and emotive tale of connection far beyond the physical realm, palpable and endless in this physical manifestation of reality. Nicely expressed Phyllis.
