Dream Life’s Pantomime
Life’s Pantomime
The beauty of life’s quest
departs…
when the light of a dream turns
to dark.
Dissipating
into the squalor of shadows…
where monsters wait
to feed
on the fallen seeds of hope.
Don’t let them go…
don’t fold into the bitterness
that grows…
from the noise of an inner-silence
chattering with regret.
Dream wider than the paradigm
created by your mind…
begin to imagine
the marvel you will find…
Believe
in the power of life’s pantomime.
So, play
play out your destiny
play your unique tune…
play the beauty of a ‘Claire de Lune’
but let not your dreams
fade…
From the light of a promised moon.

I agree with the darkness always trying to overcome the light, to destroy our dreams, our goals and our destiny. For some of us, its tougher than others to shed the dark-side as its a constant battle. I have learned to plunge ahead, put the past to rest and not to let it be all consuming. Its been a struggle, yet I am making headway. This work is very meaningful and offers hope to those who wallow in the muck and mire of uncertainty. I truly believe in your words here (Dream wider than the paradigm) I will continue to dram my poetic friend.
Thank you Vincent, kind of you to stop by. I am so pleased that you will continue to dream, I suppose I am all full of advice…but I myself often need reminding, so my pen does its best to help me, as well. Thanks again. 🙂

A poignant write Mel, its so easy to abandon our dreams when discouraged. But life is filled with wonder and beauty if we choose to see it, seek its solace. Lovely verse filled with great phrasing and imagery, you pen so well. A beautiful fluid write Mel. Nicely done.
Thank you Tony, you are so right…I am fortunate to have your support in my writing. I’m grateful for it.

Wonderful poetry and love the positive ending. We must never lose sight of our dreams.
