In Humility
Humility …

In the presence of humility,
one finds an even playing field,
when none shall outshine another,
for the sake of arrogance
or for truths refused to yield.
Our single pointed views
can only be the limitation of its range,
and no matter how invested our belief,
that restricted vista will never change.
It’s only when we relinquish the self,
the need to nourish and advantage we alone,
that perspectives broaden, the world expands,
and revelations become known.
For we are but a finite capacity,
our perspectives driven by experience,
when the world has a billion eyes,
and understanding laborious.
In humility, we expand our presence,
our connection with the world,
and in walking the steps of others,
judgement ceases to have relevance
and our knowing is unfurled.
When we side with the path of judgement,
we reveal our ignorant minds,
attest our beliefs and in doing so,
uncover our weaknesses and remind,
that we are all of the same ilk.
Humility is in a sense, freedom,
for we are not bound by rigid notions,
rather accepting of layered truths,
considered from perspective’s motion,
where understanding thrives in serene repose.

Humility can become our saving grace when we recognize we could embrace it more often. Very nicely penned, Tony.
Thanks Phyllis, glad you appreciated it. Take care.
