In the Craving
In the Craving
What affection do I crave,
if not that of a woman,
a woman of grace, of elegant poise,
of a heart felt openness to truth,
and a passion worthy
of life’s most afferent avail.
And if one such beauty appeared,
would my life be rearranged, transformed;
oh yes, I’m sure of it, far from this
single, alone recluse that wields words
like the launch of clouds
upon an infused golden gloaming.
And what would I say to welcome such change,
if not the blessing that it would be,
the humble invitation to pervade my life
like a lilting summer breeze,
the warm comfort of a winter fire
and two souls exploring the limits of bliss.
And so I entreat my dream love to find me here,
to follow a soul with beauty in its eyes,
and a heart open enough to want more,
to commit to love’s will and find peace
in the arms of life’s passionate embrace,
and to live life without fear.

Oh! My last read of the night and it is beautiful, romantic and fills me with a longing for the one I look for. Beautiful dreams for me tonight. Such a loving soul you have for the one you desire to be in your life, Tony. May you find that special love. Blessings to you, dear poet.
Thank you so much Phyllis, so pleased you enjoyed it. Blessing in return.
Beautifully put together, Tony. Brings all the emotions into one huge lump in my throat. This truly is a work of art, and thank you for sharing it with us.
Thanks Bill, so glad you appreciated the work. Take care my friend.
Tony,
Another flawless poem you have created. How blessed will your ‘special one’ be to have such appreciation by such a love, devotion, and depth as what you so charmingly present here. Australia is becoming more appealing by the minute…lol.
Much appreciated Tamara, so pleased you enjoyed it. Aussieland is not a bad place at all. Lol
