Breakup on Display

breakup

The breakup

High drama unfolding

Story tonight at 10

A teaser trailer for current events

The capture the real story

Tensions running high

Rampant imagery throughout

Sharp and pungent

What is and what might be?

Lights flashing, or are they?

Crowds gathering, jostling for position

The crescendo of their voices

A command performance for sure

An audience of the uninformed

Fueled by imagination they wait

Words turn to chants, louder and louder

Traffic slows and then stops

Chants further to shouts

A microcosm of world events

Teetering on the edge of chaos

Texting, Tweeting, Posting, Talking

Pictures and the video feed

Every angle covered, every need

Turn away….if you can, just walk

He said, she said, around and around

Maybe no one said, or everyone did

Don’t turn away, this is live

Hold your breath as the moments tick by

Tempers flare

Angry stares

No one blinks

Neither one thinks

And the crowd goes wild

As the first tear falls

Whispered speculation

Lists of outcomes or what ifs

More texting, tweeting, posting, talking

Holding ground without a sound

Fingers wagging

Eyelids sagging

More words exchanged

The crowd goes wild!

Hands up

Surrender

Goodbye….forever

The lovers separate

Each to go their separate way

Then “Poof,” the story ends

Chapter Two….the aftermath

I write about everything and sometimes nothing at all. I'm fascinated by old things, rusty things, abandoned places, or anywhere that a secret might be unearthed. I'm passionate about history and many of my pieces are anchored in one concept of time or another. I've always been a writer, dating back to my youth, but the last decade has been a time of growth for me. I'm continually pushing the limitations of vocabulary, syntax, and descriptive phrasing.

Ralph, that moved along fast and the faster I read it, the more I like it. I appreciate the short phrases that let me fill in the full meaning.

As Chris said, this was extremely fast paced drama. Reality TV puts all on show for the populace to revel in. Well written, Ralph.

A fascinating microcosm of life, contention and why we are all at war with each other. Cleverly constructed and evocative Ralph. Really enjoyed the pace and stark imagery. One oversight…’Don’t turn away, this is life’ Great work Ralph.
