11 Statements that transformed my Life
In life all we can do is our best. We all have different circumstances, live in different environments and experience different challenges, and if nothing else life teaches us the need to learn. This comes from our challenges and how we respond to them. The following 11 statements have influenced my life greatly and I share them with you.
1/ Happiness is not the result of anything, simply a decision.
2/ Morality is a pliable and ever-changing paradigm used by people as justification for their own behavior. In reality it represents the bounds of our own acceptance of behavior, allowing us to be guilt free and to be able to sleep at night. What those bounds are is purely individual.
3/ Sex has never been, nor will ever be love. The two are very separate concepts in both intention and action. Sex can be an expression of love, but love itself has no physicality.
4/ When someone shows you who they are, believe them. Human beings have a penchant for disregarding the truth for the preservation of ego.
5/ The most profound movement in life often comes from the ability to be serenely still. Objectivity is so often unused in endeavors driven by want and need. In stillness, truth reveals itself.
6/ The past is the key to who we have become, and how we think and act now, delivers us to our future. Be careful what you think.
7/ Thought has power and substance, and honing our skills to think clearly and decisively delivers what we want into our lives much quicker.
8/ Any dogma, whether it be religious, political or philosophical can only ever be a stepping stone to truth. Knowledge can only be understood with an open mind, ready to consider alternatives and further understanding rather than limitations.
9/ God can never be vengeful or malevolent. Any belief that suggest that, opposes the concept of Omniscience.
10/ Life is a journey of learning. What appears good or bad to us comes from our judgement. Experiences and a hopeful understanding of them is all we can achieve. Sharing the journey with those whom we love is our greatest triumph.
11/ LOVE has always been the answer, but in order to experience it, we must learn sacrifice and to put someone else before us. Selflessness in love allows it to blossom.
