Delusions of Wanting

Wants fulfilled are soulfully sought …

All rides on this and that, as
hope reigns in a fragile glass of crystal,
filled with blood, a potential scar,
and focus wanes not until despair delivers the verdict.

Is it faith or magic expected,
a righteous heart an ascendant soul elected,
when riding the undulations of thought and reason,
to believe that wants are candy given?

So tenuous our hold on reality,
our self-placement within propriety,
and even though a complex world of movement,
faith in our own triumphant conclusions.

And still we sit with desperate pleas of outcome,
begging this and that for certain deliverance,
when life moves not for praying hopefuls,
rather action poised in karma’s scruples.

These are the hands that move the world,
these two before us, bloodied by past mistakes
yet the power to take,
to forge what roads we need.

Magic existed within the heart, intentions and start,
for steps not taken cause naught,
and wants fulfilled are soulfully sought, then
choices take our side.
