Walls I Wander
Path towards eternal home …
What path is this that I seek
but the final journey towards eternal home
no more hunger no sickened child
no longer alone.
That journey began in a dream
the one that begins from hunger from thirst
and ends somewhere in a desert crossing
for better or for worse.
My wife behind our dreams ahead
echoes of a child crying in the night
though darkness may surround me
I will have no fright.
And when this life is over when I stand before
my God and he asks
did you do all that you could do
when I’ve given you all these tasks.
I may stand proudly and proclaim yes
I simply made my way to you
that he might smile and open that door
your journey my son is through.

Very nice, Ed. I so enjoyed reading this poem.
Nicely emotive Ed, and indeed our journey is long and filled with many paths leading to the same end. Nice work my friend.
Ed, a beautiful depiction of this short journey we called life. I am sure God will be pleased you did all he asked of you. Well done.
The day of reckoning comes to us all. I have some doubts about my reaching the pearly gates, however I am trying to reach them by some good I’m doing here on earth. When God turns the page and my name is on it, I’ve often wondered if another wretched soul will be let in through that eye of the needle. I wish you only the best on your path, your journey of reaching God.
I love you have shown where the path goes Ed. Every time! Well done.
