Turn

A turn, a vista shown,
a change, a sought perspective;
as simple as a turn, a change in focus,
can rejuvenate the world,
when so transfixed we are to forward,
we neglect what may reside within our head,
the other dimensions forgot in stead,
when on this path we travail.

To stand and look elsewhere,
is an odd, rather obtuse thing to do,
when all are in lines of forward march,
and us, swimming against the tide,
yet to take the opposite, to indulge the untrodden,
to yield to the other side,
is rather an epiphany,
a mind-blowing triumph of view.

Change is written into life,
yet we within it do nothing but find repetition,
for the purpose of security, a comfort of safety,
when challenges and vibrancy live elsewhere,
in the other direction;
so stop, turn and find the other, unseen,
its like having a vivid day dream,
where life is twice as filled with awe.

    I’ve enjoyed the turns in my life, thankfully they have not been too dramatic. Gathering different perspectives on life is fulfilling and breathtaking. I am thankful for them all, whether good or bad, a turn leads to knowledge in many cases. Well done Tony, I like your perspective on life.

    Thanks Vincent, glad you agree, it is so easy to fall into mundane routines. Perspective is what its all about. Cheers!

    Excellent message written in poetic form, Tony. The alternative to change is stagnation which is not conducive to the art of enjoying life. Well-written, I enjoyed reading.
