Let Us Know of Pleasure and Silence
From the scent of the air tonight I can tell
of what is about to come
and so we begin to settle in for the evening
and the idea that it and we are one
So to sit in silence and sip on the taste of serenity to
enjoy the moving moments of dusk
like a head against my shoulder I dare to dream of
the soft taste of her musk
As intoxicating as this woman called night
yearning for touch yearning for a sigh
and the soft sounds of the pleasure
a reason to feel high
Is it natures pleasure to entertain our senses
or ours to enjoy ?
Is nature not the timepiece for living
or all but an evil ploy ?
I think not for we midgets of mankind know
only that which we invent
and forget the pleasures placed before us
in the air that we might scent
Now where is that woman called evening
for I must know her heart
Let her bend and break my very soul again
as I let evening do it’s part
And in the soft breath of morning my evening
might lay satiated glowing in full measures
And I will have known all her secrets
the sounds the treasures

What a delightful piece Ed, I could see you sitting on your front porch, taking in the scent of the evening and night airs, listening to crickets click, owls hoot, coyotes bark and dark shadows caressing the skies. The scent of a woman’s musk is intoxicating indeed, that’s one thing I truly miss, the Scent of a woman nearby. The Universe has blessed us midgets with a taste of heaven, it’s given us senses to enjoy them, yet many don’t use them. To be one with nature, is to get out there where it lives, play in it, frolic in the hills, ride in wide open spaces, let the earth enter all of those senses. You sir, had my senses dancing with this write. A minor shout out typo error should there not be just the one our?, “our ours to enjoy.”
Good work Ed, thoroughly enjoyed it.
An eloquent and delightful rendition Ed, worded so romantically and in smooth flowing verse. Nature’s guile is mesmerizing and you have captured the beauty here, so well. Lovely work, inspiring.
Evenings cloak us in warmth and comfort. Such a beautiful expression of a pleasant night. Well penned, Ed. Thank you for these moments of beauty.
Beautiful. Would you mind if I put this on my performance list? Jamie
