Merry Notes

The trill of birdsong, like melodious rhyme,
danced outside my frosted window,
and even though sun refused to shine,
those articulate feathered friends
do sustain their will.

Light of heart
I relinquished the burden of day’s resolve,
darkness and rain none to dampen those hallowed voices,
as I give thanks for their reminding,
their sunny and trill like chiming, I imbibe.

Hope resides in every breath,
even the last at this journey’s end,
for being snuffed from life is change alone
and melodies echo in time’s infinite song,
eternal memories linger.

So bless you little one, for your merry notes,
wafting like butterflies on fated wing,
dancing through a sour day,
for all those memories of sun you bring,
to rest a heart in serene repose.

Such a delightful verse that brings the image and trills of a little bird to my window. Those merry notes sure can bring us out of darker places, into the sunshine of our soul. I enjoyed this very much, Tony. Thank you, dear poet.

What a wonderful piece, Tony. Truly their merry notes brighten the day as I hear them in your poem, and hear them fluttering outside my window. It was nice to wake up to this!

Indeed Tony! A Poet finds peace and contentment from nature. I find mine through meditation and nature’s calls as in the sweet tweets and chirps of birds calls. Nicely penned.
