Heartbreaking Tragic Loss
Heartbreaking tragic loss you suffer, my friend.
How to help you is preying on my mind, tugging at my heart.
Your loss of one so dear is a loss for both of us,
For a part of you went with your beloved sister.
Dear sister, you and your brother, are family to me.
If only you had been able to reach out for help,
To let someone know what we could not see
May your spirit find the peace that eluded you in life.
So young she was, so cherished by you, dearest friend.
Fear consumes me at this time, fear that I may lose you, too.
You are so far away, I cannot hold you as you cry,
Nor hear the pain in your voice, see a tear in your eye.
Stay strong, I pray for you, I hold you in my heart,
Though not in my arms where you should be at this time.
Let the tears come, cry for all the sorrow and hurt you feel.
I would dry your tears, rock you like my little child.
A child of the Universe you are, let me be the solace
You need, the comfort, the strength that has left you.
Let this heartbreaking loss not take you from me.
So far away, another country, yet close in spirit we are.
May our spirits be ever close to walk together,
On this journey we did not expect or see coming.
I will walk with you, every step of the way,
Through sadness, confusion, and the anger to come.
We will take on this battle together, hand in hand.
Do not let go, my beloved friend, nor stray off.
Tis a hard path for you, one you should not have.
I cannot make it easy, but I can be here for you.

Phyllis I’m so sad to read this heart wrenching poem you penned for your good friend, who lost his sister. I pray that he will take as much strength from your close loving friendship as he possibly can at this very traumatic time. I know your spirit will be a guiding light for him. Even though distance lay between you, both your love and closeness will bind you together. Peace and blessings I send to you both this day.
Thank you so much, Vincent. Thank you.
So heartbreaking to read Phyllis and I know it must be so hard on you wanting to help so much. It is so hard even when we are close to help with this sort of pain but in distance it near impossible. I do hope your friend hears your words of and are comforted by them. Time seems the only true cure and even then, well we never forget those we love but the pain does ease. Bless you both.
Thank you, Jackie. Yes, time does heal and the love will go to a quieter, more peaceful place. I wish my computer would still support Skype, then my friend and I could talk. Thanks again, Jackie.
A sad circumstance and so beautifully emoted in kindness and love for those who suffer the loss. A heart warming support and empathy for someone so close, yet so far away. Great sentiments Phyllis.
It is sad, Tony. He is like a nephew to me. It is good we are close in spirit, that helps both of us a lot. Thank you for your very kind words.
Oh Phyllis,
I’m so sorry for all involved. Even though the pain is real, the poem was beautiful. I’m a believer in time. Times heals a myriad of unpleasant situations.
So very sorry for this loss. Your very poignant poem of comfort and encouragement to your friend is deeply moving.
Nicely penned. Love the sentiments. Always good to know a true friend is at hand.
Sorry I was cut off. At the hardest of times it is so important to exchange comforting thoughts even from a distance.
