Forgiveness Echoes
In all of my numbing
ways
and countless days…
so many withered years unmade.
Visions
of your slippery wind that chose
to sin…
How then shall I begin
to find the answer to its end?
Forgiveness echoes
‘Let it go’
proverbial in all of its glow…
still planted seeds of fear and doubt
will have their show.
O how I’ve tried
to let you go
clean…
In dreams
I yearn for your voice
mouthing
the needed sounds of an apology…
but reality finds its place
as I will surely wake…
to the empty sound of winds
that ache…
The answer chiming gently
at the dangle of an idle
key
that only I can turn…
To set myself free.

Welcome to the site Melissa. So very nice to see you here. I look forward to reading and digesting your amazing verse. It’s tough when we have a past that slams a door behind us. I NEVER did receive an apology from my father, not even on his dying last breath. So the key I have hangs silently on a rusted nail on my wall. This is a feeling poem and I felt it, just what a real poet can make its readers feel. Thank you. Well done.
Thank you Vincent…I am very sorry to hear about your father, I think perhaps I will experience the same let down.
I sincerely appreciate your kind comment, and look forward to getting to know your work. Thanks again.

This is beautifully penned. The dangling key is a factor in many unanswered questions. I loved the concept and rhyme..
